Terms of Use

  • PAYMENT: To get started, the client agrees to pay a non refundable deposit of 10% the initial sum before any revisions or extra fees. After approving the final product, the client agrees to pay the remaining balance and any additional fees before receiving the completed work. Failure to meet these terms may result in CoversByJuan retaining licenses for imagery, drafts, or book editing, with rights to the work forfeited. However, once the project is finished, the client retains full rights to the exclusive work paid for.
  • CANCELLATIONS: Work on the client's project begins on the specified date, and any cancellations afterward will result in a forfeited deposit. The client agrees not to keep mockups, and unfinished work or tracked changes will not be implemented. Pre-made covers require full payment upfront, with revisions as specified below.
  • REVISIONS: After agreeing on the initial draft, the client is entitled to up to three revisions for: Font style or color. Text placement. Requests that do not adhere to industry standards, genre-appropriate design, or violate terms of service will not be accepted.
  • REFUNDS: Refunds are only available before the project starts, with no refunds for pre-made covers. However, each pre-made cover is considered exclusive, and modifications can be made to differentiate it according to CoversByJuan's definition.
  • LICENSE and IMAGE RIGHTS: CoversByJuan retains all rights and permissions regarding trademarks, licenses, and distribution. The client agrees to defend CoversByJuan against copyright claims from the materials provided. Exclusive license rights are granted to the client after full payment. Third-party licensed images are authorized for up to 500,000 copies in digital or print. For extended licenses, inquire in advance. CoversByJuan may use the final book cover in its portfolio for promotional purposes. The client must own or have rights to provided images, taking responsibility for any claims. Custom illustrations require approval from a digital artist.
  • ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND USAGE: The client commits to including the following acknowledgment in any format: Cover Design by CoversByJuan – coversbyjuan.com. Cover reveals and portfolio usage are subject to: When the client's work was created from a premade cover and two years have passed since completion. Client approval within the specified timeframe.
  • COMPLETE AGREEMENT: This agreement is the full understanding between all parties. Additional agreements require written or e-signature documents.
